Because you only have on/off feature for a single A/P available.īut reality is, modern jetliners have up to 3 A/P, so which one you turn on when required? You need to turn on them selectively as required depending you are Captain, FO, doing an autoland, failures, etc. Xplane default command -servos_toggle- may be used by developers to engage/disengage A/P on pretty basic aircraft and/or pretty basic simplification of the real aircraft systems. Is there a way to have a single Joystick button mapped to both of these commands, or automatically selected depending on the aircraft you're in? Toggle Servos (more or less) disengages/engages AP while 1-sim/comm/AP/ap_disc apparently does nothing. For, say the FJS 727-200 or the default 737-800, the reverse is true. In the 767, Servos Toggle doesn't appear to have any effect. My question (which is maybe a more general X-Plane controls mapping): For many aircraft, to disconnect the AP, I need to map the button to the 'Servos Toggle' command. This method of mapping the yoke AP disconnect function works fine for me and thank all who contributed in answering it. Bumping this thread for a follow-up question.
